Sunday Evening (Disciple Making)

Preparing People for Mission

The mission of God does not belong to one person or even a select group within the church; it belongs to us all. On Sunday evenings, we focus on equipping the saints for the work of ministry. Every group not only studies the Bible together but also takes on the work of ministry, serving one another and our community. Our goal is to inspire and prepare each member to be a part of God's mission in the world. Come be a part of the discipleship ministry at Denver Street Baptist Church—where we are equipped, encouraged, and sent to live on mission for Christ.

We meet at 6:00 PM in their respective locations, and on the second Sunday of each month, we take a break to allow for committee meetings, church business, and to observe the Lord’s Supper.

  • Women’s Missions Auxiliary – Meeting in the Brown Classroom, under the leadership of Jeannie Nast and the direction of Carolyn Colvert, the Women’s Missions Auxiliary is a group focused on prayer, outreach, and supporting both local and global missions. This group encourages women to actively participate in God’s work by supporting missionaries and serving our community.
  • Men’s Missions Auxiliary – Meeting in the sanctuary, led by Pastor Andrew Krisell, the Men’s Missions Auxiliary focuses on empowering men to lead in ministry. This group engages in prayer, Bible study, and opportunities to serve, all while cultivating a heart for the mission of God.
  • Galileans (Boys 4th grade and up) – Led by James Laminack, this group is dedicated to discipleship and equipping boys with the tools they need to serve Christ and live out their faith. They learn from God’s Word and actively participate in service projects and outreach.
  • Sisters (Girls 4th grade and up) – Led by Deann Denison, the Sisters group teaches young girls to live as disciples of Christ. Through Bible study, prayer, and service, this group emphasizes growing in faith, leadership, and mission.
  • Young Families – Led by Pastor Derrick Bremer, this group provides a space for parents and their young children (3rd grade and younger) to engage in interactive Bible lessons. The focus is on modeling at-home devotionals and equipping parents to raise disciples in their homes. It’s a time to build a village of support where young families are encouraged to walk in faith together.

On Sunday evenings, we unite as a church body to grow, serve, and prepare for the mission field. Join us as we actively work together to live out our calling to make disciples of all nations.
