Derrick Bremer joined the pastoral staff at Denver Street in October 2020, during the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Along with his wife, Michelle, and two children, Charlotte and Charles, the Bremers transplanted into Greenwood where they have been blessed by the scenic views from nearly every street, accessible fishing locations, and nearby hiking and walking trails.
Bro. Derrick fondly bears the badge of honor as a self-proclaimed theology nerd. He is passionate about the application of the Bible to everyday life. Bro. Derrick's teaching philosophy is rooted in the Bible's testimony of itself that all Scripture is profitable for teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness (2 Tim. 3:16).
In addition to serving the congregation of Denver Street as their pastor, eager to pray for them, to serve them, to teach them, to guide them, and to love them - Bro. Derrick is involved in numerous other ministries.
- From 2020-2024, he has served as Trustee for the Baptist Publishing House, a ministry of the BMA of America seeking to produce a distinctly Baptist Sunday School curriculum. Bro. Derrick began serving this ministry as Bookkeeper in July of 2024.
- Since November 2022, Bro. Derrick has served as a Trustee for the Baptist Trumpet, a weekly newspaper for the churches of the BMA, and chairperson from 2023 to 2024.
- In December 2022, Bro. Derrick joined a creative collaboration with a fellow pastor from NorthWest Arkansas to launch The Lonely Pastor's Podcast, a long-form discussion on the musing, meditations, and polemics of a lonely pastor.
- Since 2023, he has served as a member of the coordinating council for the BMAA.
- Since November '23, he has served as second vice-president of the BMA of Arkansas.
